Tito’s bunker – ARK (atomic war command) is the most closely guarded secret and the third major investment of the former Yugoslavia. Construction lasted for a full 26 years, from 1953. to 1979. and the cost was the then 4.6 billion US dollars and during that time in Konjic no one knew what was actually being built. All construction workers were carefully selected and checked, signed a contract of silence, and all staff members passed the highest security check.
The facility is located in the protected area of the Igman ammunition factory and below the Zlatar mountain. The facility was built with the intention of functioning as a center in the event of an (atomic) war military operations and a shelter for President Tito, his family and closest associates.
They were able to stay there for 6 months without any contact with the outside world, because war command had everything one needs for a normal life. The temperature in the bunker is in between
21 and 23 degrees Celsius, and humidity from 60 to 70%, which is ideal living conditions.
The structure consists of residential areas, conference hall, office and others areas. The bunker covers an area of 6,400 m2 and consists of three parts: the outer part bunkers, tunnels and protected part. The bunker remained a state secret until the break-up of Yugoslavia in the 1990s.
In 2014, the building was declared a national monument of BH cultural heritage its historical importance has been confirmed.

Titov bunker – ARK (atomska ratna komanda) je najstrožije čuvana tajna i treća velika investicija bivse Jugoslavije. Izgradnja je trajala punih 26 godina od 1953 do 1979 godine i kostala je tadasnjih 4,6 milijardi americkih dolara i za to vrijeme u Konjicu niko nije znao sta se zapravo gradi. Svi građevinski radnici su pažljivo odabirani i provjereni, potpisivali ugovor šutnje, a svi članovi osoblja prolazili su najveću sigurnosnu provjeru.
Objekat je smjesten u zasticenoj zoni fabrike municije Igman i ispod planine Zlatar. Objekat je sagrađen u namjeri da u slučaju (atomskog) rata, funkcionise kao centar vojnih operacija i sklonište za predsjednika Tita, njegovu porodicu i najbliže saradnike. Oni su mogli boraviti tu 6 mjeseci bez ikakvog kontakta sa vanjskim svijetom, jer se u njemu nalazi sve što je potrebno za normalan život. Temperatura u bunkeru je između 21 i 23 stepena celzijusa, a vlažnost zraka od.60 do 70%, sto predstavlja idealne uvjete za život.
Struktura se sastoji od stambenih područja, konferencijske sale, kancelarije i drugih oblasti. Bunker se prostire na površini od 6.400 m2 i sastoji se od tri dijela : vanjski dio bunkera, tuneli i štićeni dio. Bunker je ostalo državna tajna sve do raspada Jugoslavije u 1990-ih.
2014 godine objekat je proglašen za nacionalni spomenik BH kulturnog naslijeđa čime je potvrđena njegova historijska važnost.
